Travis Scott Announces ‘Utopia’ Tour For Fall 2023

Travis Scott has announced that he will embark on the Utopia – Circus Maximus Tour from October to December. Scott’s upcoming 2023 North American headlining tour will be his first since the 2021 Astroworld Festival tragedy, in which 10 people died and over 300 people were injured during the rapper’s set in Houston on November 5, 2021.

Scott’s 2023 tour dates in support on his new album, Utopia, will begin with a show at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina on October 11 and will conclude with a concert at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on December 29. The tour will stop in several major North American cities along the way including Nashville, Denver, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Boston, and New York City.

Scott’s fourth studio album, Utopia, was released on July 28. The 19-track LP has topped the Billboard 200 chart for three consecutive weeks. Utopia and Astroworld are now tied for the longest-charting Travis Scott albums.

Earlier this month, Scott played a show with Kanye West at Rome’s legendary chariot-racing stadium Circus Maximus. The concert created a sensation so powerful that locals feared an earthquake, resulting in a concert ban at the historical stadium. At the same show, concertgoers reported an airborne substance that irritated their throat and eyes, according to Pitchfork. Some of the attendees had to seek medical attention, and it was suspected that the substance was pepper spray.

Official investigative reports were recently released to the public, documenting what occurred during the 2021 Astroworld crowd crush tragedy. “I know they’ll try to fight through it but I would want it on the record that I didn’t advise this to continue. Someone’s going to end up dead,” contract worker Reece Wheeler wrote in a text regarding the concert, according to an Associated Press report from earlier this year.

In July, Scott was cleared of criminal charges stemming from the Astroworld incident.
