Songwriting In The Mountains

On August 22 and 23, Wolf Creek Resort in Eden, Utah will host “Songwriting in the Mountains,” a music seminar and songwriting competition. The goal of the weekend seminar is to “educate and inspire new songwriting talent,” and with events, workshops and a private dinner party led by a host of industry talent, attendees should easily fulfill the seminar’s goals by the close of the program

On August 22 and 23, Wolf Creek Resort in Eden, Utah will host “Songwriting in the Mountains,” a music seminar and songwriting competition. The goal of the weekend seminar is to “educate and inspire new songwriting talent,” and with events, workshops and a private dinner party led by a host of industry talent, attendees should easily fulfill the seminar’s goals by the close of the program. Talent scheduled to attend include:

-Kim Williams: hit writer for Garth Brooks and Randy Travis, and more
-Doug Johnson: Producer and Vice President of Curb Records, also co-wrote Randy Travis’ CMA award winning hit “Three Wooden Crosses” with Kim Williams
-Amanda Williams: Hit songwriter for Garth Brooks and George Jones, including the song “Beer Run”
-Tim Fink: Associate Vice President, SESAC Nashville
-John Mullins: Director SESAC, Nashville
-Pat McMakin: Producer, Engineer Ocean Way Studios Nashville
-Lisa Johnson: Nashville Publishing Executive
-Surprise special guest songwriter

In addition to attending the planned seminars, the organizers also invite interested songwriters to submit original musical compositions for the songwriting contest. The winning entrant “will have a Nashville demo session done of their song with top Nashville players. Then it will be shopped to at least three high level industry professionals such as A&R, producers, etc. who are currently looking for material to cut on their artists.”
