Country music has a lot of songs that sound quite similar. That being so, it sometimes isn’t all that easy to identify one song from another. Well, hopefully with our list, we will help you out with that. With that in mind, here are 3 of the most famous country songs you can’t name, but know the lyrics like the back of your hand.
“Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart” by Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash‘s single, “Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart”, is not a forgettable song, as he historically performed it at Folsom State Prison in 1968. However, given its lengthy and peculiar title, its name has seemingly been forgotten.
Contrary to the complicated title are Johnny Cash’s short and comedic lyrics, which is what make the song so memorable. So, if you’ve been listening to this song or singing it, but can’t find the title, then here you go. Also, thanks to its uniqueness, once you’ve heard this title once, you won’t forget it.
“Nights I Can’t Remember, Friends I’ll Never Forget” by Toby Keith
Toby Keith has hit upon hit, and it goes without saying, but they are all catchy hits. Well, in his arsenal of songs exists another famous country tune often overshadowed by the rest. Consequently, the lyrics and melody are remembered, but the title is not. The song in question is Toby Keith’s 2003 single, “Nights I Can’t Remember, Friends I’ll Never Forget.”
Again, this isn’t one of Keith’s monster hits, but given that it comes from Toby Keith, it still is a widely popular song. Regardless, when one factors in the rest of Keith’s catalog and the lengthy title of this song, it’s not surprising that the title of this song is forgotten from time to time.
“Toes” by Zac Brown Band
One of the catchiest tunes infusing island music with country is the Zac Brown Band‘s 2008 single, “Toes”. You can listen to this song just once and remember not only the melody, but also most of the lyrics. It’s contagiously catchy, but its simple title is often lost upon listeners.
There is no sure-fire answer as to why the title of this song is seemingly forgotten. However, given its simplicity, one just might not guess the obvious, “Toes”. Regardless, the Zac Brown Band scored and continues to score loads of success with “Toes”.
