Well, nobody was really asking for it, but we’re getting it nonetheless. Fyre Festival 2 is likely happening soon. For those not in the know, the OG Fyre Fest was promoted as a “luxury meets adventure” experience, and a number of big names from Ja Rule to Blink-182 were associated with it. However, it never actually happened.

Once attendees arrived at the Bahamian island of Great Exuma back in 2017, they were met with poor accommodations, pre-packaged food, security problems, lack of medical services, and other issues. The festival was canceled before it even began, and it became the subject of a number of class action lawsuits. Despite being associated with fraud, the festival is coming back in 2025. If it actually happens, here’s who I’d like to see perform at the luxury festival.
1. Baha Men
I’ve written about Baha Men often over the years, so I know what I’m talking about here. Known for their mega-hit “Who Let The Dogs Out” from 2000, the Bahamian junkaroo outfit is still together years later. And considering the original Fyre Festival was meant to take place on the island of Great Exuma in the Bahamas, it only makes sense to have a true Bahamian band perform at the festival.
2. Beyonce
When asked if he would like any A-list celebs to headline the new festival, disgraced Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland said “I really hope so, and I expect so from our conversations.”
If that’s the case, why not get Bey on board? The superstar will be kicking off her Cowboy Carter Tour in April of this year, but if the showrunners behind Fyre Festival have the (very real!) money to dish out on big talent, they could go as big as it gets with a Beyonce headlining slot.
3. The Ghost of Jimi Hendrix
When one thinks of Jimi Hendrix, one often thinks of the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival. While that festival also features Janis Joplin’s iconic debut that launched her career, most people know of the Monterey Pop Festival as the fest that hosted a guitar-burning Hendrix at the height of his fame. Maybe an appearance from Hendrix could also lend some positive notoriety to the second iteration of Fyre Festival. Though, we doubt Hendrix would want to return from the dead to headline something this stupid.
4. Ja Rule
Ja Rule helped Billy McFarland organize the first Fyre Festival. While the hip-hop icon was more or less dismissed from the lawsuits involving Fyre Festival years back (and he really, really wanted everyone to know that it wasn’t his fault), it would be kind of hilarious to see him headline Fyre Festival 2 this year. Though, we won’t get our hopes up.
