Olivia Rodrigo Comments on Not Attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Yet

The Eras Tour has had no shortage of celebrity guests. Missing from the host of famous faces though has been Olivia Rodrigo. Given her self-professed Swiftie status, fans were confused as to why she hadn’t made it out to a show yet. According to the “Bad Idea Right?” singer, she hasn’t actively decided not to go.

In a new interview with the New York Times, Rodrigo was asked whether or not she had “caught Swift’s Eras Tour,” to which she gave a brief response.

“I haven’t yet,” she told the outlet. “I’m going to Europe this week.” Rodrigo went on to say that she had been busy, which is understandable given that she is currently amid an album rollout for her sophomore record, Guts.

Fans were keeping a close eye on whether or not Rodrigo would attend the Eras Tour. In the early days of her career, Rodrigo cited Swift as one of her biggest inspirations. As her following began to grow, Swift expressed her mutual admiration for the young singer.

After Rodrigo’s “driver’s license” ended up on the charts alongside Swift, the “All Too Well” singer sent her a message of congratulations.”I say that’s my baby and I’m really proud,” Swift wrote on Instagram at the time.

Mutual fans of the singers began to worry if that relationship had soured (no pun intended) after the release of Rodrigo’s debut album. Swift was added to the writing credits of a couple of songs after the album’s release, in an effort to thwart any copyright issues. The tracks “Deja Vu” and “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back” were said to have borrowed elements from Swift tracks.

Neither singer has confirmed any bad blood.

While Rodrigo may not have swung by the Eras Tour yet, many other celebrities have. The list of famous attendees includes Emma Stone, Diplo, Shania Twain, Selena Gomez, Jack Antonoff, Ethan Hawke, Billy Joel, Matty Healy, Reese Witherspoon, and many more. And that was just the U.S. leg…

The international legs of the Eras Tour start tonight. Swift will kick off the next leg with four nights in Mexico City. Find the rest of her international dates, HERE.
