Getting a look into the personal life of a huge musician is a bit of a guilty pleasure for many. While some of the artists on this list had a tendency to keep their personal lives private, we do know for a fact that they had some strange food habits that might interest a megafan or two. We won’t judge you for reading; a couple of these entries are absolutely insane. Without further ado, let’s look at a few rock stars’ favorite foods!

David Bowie – Milk and Red Peppers
This isn’t really surprising. I can’t imagine David Bowie doing anything “normal,” and I mean that as a compliment. Still, this entry is a weird one. Back in the 1970s, Bowie often enjoyed a snack composed of a glass of milk and a handful of red peppers. While recording Station To Station, that’s apparently all he ate. Though, it is worth mentioning that this odd diet was likely the result of drug addiction, which Bowie would later deal with during his Berlin era and finally eat some normal food.
John Lennon – Jaffa Cakes
This is definitely on the tame side. For those who aren’t from across the pond, jaffa cakes are a chocolate-covered pastry with an orange jam filling that became quite popular in the UK in the 20th century. They’re still a thing today. And The Beatles’ John Lennon was obsessed with them. Paul McCartney once said that Lennon craved them like a man starved during the band’s earlier years, but he eventually got over the food addiction.
“He went mad on jaffa cakes, went insane about them,” said McCartney. “’Gimme gimme!’ About a week later he couldn’t look at one, and he never looked at one the rest of his life. ‘Oh, don’t talk to me about jaffa cakes!’”
Noel Gallagher – Instant Ramen Noodles
Instant ramen noodles have fuelled a generation of people across the globe. They’re salty, starchy, satisfying, and dirt cheap. It’s kind of wild that a rock star like Oasis’ Noel Gallagher would eat them as often as he did, considering he had more than enough wealth to refine his tastes. However, this food obsession was the result of some trauma Gallagher experienced with food poisoning.
“When I first moved to London, me mam kept on ringing up and asking [if I was] eating properly,” said Gallagher. “‘Yes, Mam.’ So I tried to cook a Sunday roast and puked up for two days with food poisoning. It was back to pot noodles after that.”
Elvis Presley – That Abomination of a Sandwich
This sandwich is one of the most legendary favorite foods of a famous rock star in music history. And it’s… something. Elvis Presley famously loved this particular invention that he came up with as a child.
Allegedly, Presley once took his private plane to Memphis to visit a restaurant known as the Colorado Mine Company. There, he consumed a sandwich composed of a whole loaf of bread, a whole jar of peanut butter, a whole jar of grape jam, and a pound of bacon. Presley and company spent hours digging into the sammys, and it’s shocking that the sandwich wasn’t what did him in. He was also quite a big fan of peanut butter, meat, and banana sandwiches.
