Chris Martin Saves Young Coldplay Fan
In March 2022, Coldplay kicked off their wildly successful Music of the Spheres World Tour. With less than a year until it wraps up, Music of the Spheres has become the most-attended tour of all time.
While packed arenas are great for musicians, they aren’t always the most comfortable for concertgoers. Noticing a young boy struggling in the standing section during a Nov. 7 show in Sydney, Australia, Coldplay’s Chris Martin paused the concert to help him.
“Sit right here, OK?” the 47-year-old rocker said, pointing to the kid. “You don’t have to be squeezed.”
“Can we get some headphones for him?” Martin asked as a security guard helped the boy move closer to the stage. “You don’t have to be squished by all these adults. “You sit right there, my little brother… Better? Good.”

Even after the little boy settled into his new seat, Martin continued to prioritize his comfort. “Do you want a Coke or something like that?” the “Viva La Vida” singer asked. He quickly added, “A drink, I mean,” much to the crowd’s delight.
“We’ll take care of you,” Martin assured the little boy as he returned to the microphone.
“Once a Dad, Always a Dad”
Coldplay fans praised Chris Martin’s heartwarming gesture as footage of the incident made the rounds on social media. “Awww once a dad always a dad,” one TikTok user wrote.
Another added, “this was so beautiful I nearly cried he is the sweetest man bro.”
Coldplay will resume their Music of the Spheres World Tour on Wednesday (Nov. 13) in Auckland, New Zealand. After wrapping up a three-night stint, they will pause the tour until after the holidays. Music of the Spheres will resume Jan. 9 in Abu Dhabi.
The tour returns to the U.S. May 31 in Stanford, California.
