3 Female Country Singers With Unmistakable Singing Voices

Singing is an art form. And people spend hours and days and weeks and lifetimes trying to master it. To get that right note, to get that right range, that perfect vocal dexterity, and delivery. But sometimes a voice has that special quality that no one can teach. It’s not about practice makes perfect. It’s about gifts a person is born with and decides to share.

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton’s voice is like a butterfly. It’s slight and fluttery but mighty enough to touch every corner of the room. And when she sings songs like “Jolene,” that monarch is carrying poison on its wings, right to the ears of the woman who tried to take her husband. Indeed, Parton is one of those instantly recognizable singers whose voice feels comforting—unless you’re that red-headed Jolene. When used to sing songs like “I Will Always Love You,” you can feel as if you’re flying, too.

Patsy Cline

There are singers and then there’s Patsy Cline. When people talk about certain others being used as instruments of God, Patsy Cline is right up there at the top of the list of those who just might be. Her iconic voice leaps from her lips and fills a room like the scent of baked bread. It’s sumptuous and unmistakable and cannot be replicated. Indeed, you’d be crazy for trying.

Loretta Lynn

If you looked up perfect country singing voice in the dictionary, there wouldn’t have to be any words, not a single definition. All you would need is a picture of Loretta Lynn. With her rich, clear-as-a-bell voice, all you need is a snare drum and a slide guitar to keep the party going all night. While her voice is lively and entertaining, it is also as if your neighbor is singing to you. As if you’ve known Loretta your entire life. She just knows what notes to hit.
