Bruce Burns Through Born To Run, Turns 60

These are exciting times for Bruce Springsteen. On Sunday night, he and the E Street Band poured through his seminal 1975 album, Born To Run, in its entirety for an ecstatic house in Chicago. Springsteen and co. plowed through 28 songs in three hours, saving Born To Run for the middle of the set. The one-two tandem of “Meeting Across The River” into “Jungeland” must have been insane.

Towards the end, Bruce went old school, busting out covers of “Da Do Run Run” and “Rockin’ Robin” on request. However, no encore is complete without “Rosalita.”

The evening marked the second time the band has played through the storied album live — the first was in 2008 at a small New Jersey benefit.

Springsteen turns 60 today. If only we could all be as young as he is.
