David Vandervelde is not a “Nashville transplant” as we learned during American Songwriter and WOXY’s joint session during the 2009 Next Big Nashville festival. On a rainy Saturday afternoon, following a headlining NBN set on Friday night at Exit/In, Vandervelde took to the crowded highways and made it to our office on Music Row with bandmate Mr. Jimmy. WOXY’s Mike Taylor talked to Mr. Vandervelde about his past and upcoming recording projects and affinity for life in Nashville. Listen to audio segments from the interview as well as three live tracks that were recorded in our office.
