As Doug Martsch sang in 1999, “the plan keeps coming up again.”

Built to Spill have announced the details on their latest psych-rock opus, There Is No Enemy. Due out on Warner Bros. on October 6, their seventh album is said to feature more of a collaborative approach to songwriting than in the past. It was also the band’s first time using the digital editing tool Pro Tools, giving them unlimited tracks to create with. Guests include Quasi’s Sam Coomes, Butthole Surfer Paul Leary, and Martch’s old bandmate from Treepeople, guitarist/vocalist Scott Schmaljohn.

Tomorrow, Built to Spill launch a new tour to win over the hearts and minds of America.
