A simple truth of rock is that bands birth more bands. Such is the case with Seattle based Grand Archives whose fellow Sub Pop-er Band of Horses brought them into the world via their now-former guitarist Matt Brooke. Keep In Mind Frankenstein finds the band cross pollinating the haunted sounds from the Band of Horses camp and the breezy summer evening pop ditties of Belle & Sebastian. Gentle harmonies and the occasional crying pedal steel make this an easy listen that fits perfectly in the Sub Pop roster somewhere between The Shins, Fleet Foxes, and Iron & Wine.
