Katy Perry was presented an award at France’s NRJ Awards in Cannes but Rihanna was actually meant to receive the honor.
Perry was given the award for the best international song of the year by the host Nikos Aliagas by mistake and he later admitted that Disturbia by Rihanna was the actual winner.
However, Perry didn’t go home empty-handed. She won for best international album of the year for One Of The Boys (Virgin) and she performed at the Cannes event. Other performers include Akon, Duffy, Seal and a solo-act by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.
Some other winners at the Jan. 17th event include Enrique Iglesias for best international male, Pussycat Dolls for best international band and Britney Spears for international female and best video for Womanizer.
