As Kate Hudson says in Almost Famous, “it’s all happening!” The rumours that a fourth Woodstock festival would take place this summer have turned into fact — promoters have announced the early lineup, which includes Levon Helm, Jefferson Starship, and Country Joe and the Fish. The festival, which commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the storied 1969 event, will take place in Bethel, New York on August 15. Other acts on the bill include festival vets Big Brother and the Holding Company, Mountain, Ten Years After, and Canned Heat.

The organizers are also working with Sony Music to turn the Woodstock concept into a social networking site. In related news, Ang Lee’s latest pic, Taking Woodstock, which stars comedian Demitri Martin, hits theaters on August 14. Far out, man.
