Now in its 23rd year, the Doc Watson-hosted MerleFest has just announced its 2010 lineup. The Wilkesboro, North Carolina festival, which seeks to spotlight the “traditional-plus” sound of Appalachia, has unveiled yet another stellar lineup of more than 75 talented veterans and newcomers alike.
Highlights for 2010 include Sam Bush, The Avett Brothers, Jerry Douglass, The Duhks, Elvis Costello and, of course, Doc Watson. Brothers Seth and Scott Avett will also join their father Jim Avett, who recently released an album of gospel standards, on the mainstage for what is sure to be an exciting family affair.
The festival is set to take place April 29 through May 2 at Wilkes Community College. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, November 10.
