Pavement fans have waited ten years for their indie rock heroes to reunite. It appears they’ll only have to wait 370 more days, when Pavement will allegedly return to reap their revenge on New York City.
That’s what Pitchfork is reporting — they have them scheduled to play a benefit show on September 21, 2010 in Central Park. Hey, that’s not too far away.
Says Brooklyn Vegan, “According to reliable sources, it’s finally happening in 2010! There will be multiple, possibly four, nights of shows at NYC’s Cental Park Summerstage in September of that year. That could be part of a tour. That could be the end of a tour, the middle of a tour, or even the beginning of a tour, but it seems reasonable to speculate that they might make their official comeback at Coachella in April.”
Will Pavement be the new Pixies? Only time will tell.
