“Get your Phish on”

Phish are prepping yet another massive festival, dubbed Festival 8, to take place over the Halloween weekend. The Phish-fest will run from October 30 through November 1 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, the same location as Coachella.

To mark the occasion, they’ll play eight sets of music, which will include the covering of one full album by another artist, and, for the first time in the band’s history, an entire full-length acoustic set.

Phish have gone unplugged before, at Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit in 1998. However, since that set was under six hours long, it didn’t really count.

The covering of another band’s LP is a Phish Halloween tradition that dates back to 1994, when they played the Beatles’ White Album in its entirety. Throughout their career, they’ve tackled the Who’s Quadrophenia, the Velvet Underground’s Loaded, and in 1998, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.

Phish’s latest album is Joy, the band’s first in five years.
