The mainstream music world often has amnesia. A song could top the charts for weeks, only to completely disappear from airwaves in just a few years. These four country songs from the 2000s have disappeared from a lot of radio rotations, and I think they could stand to get some attention in the 2020s. Let’s take a look!
1. “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” by Darius Rucker
Some might know him best as a core member of Hootie And The Blowfish, but Darius Rucker also had a hefty country music era at the turn of the millennium. “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” was released in 2008 and is your classic country song about an old flame. It was a no. 1 hit on the Hot Country Songs chart, but you’ll rarely hear it on the radio nowadays.

2. “Suds In The Bucket” by Sara Evans
This is a pretty unfortunate entry on our list of country songs from the 2000s that disappeared, considering how solid of a track it is. Sara Evans was pretty big in the 2000s, and “Suds In The Bucket” was just one hit that deserves more love in the 2020s. It’s a spontaneous, delightful little country tune that hit no. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart back in 2003.
3. “Love Like Crazy” by Lee Brice
You really don’t hear much Lee Brice on country radio anymore, and it’s a shame. “Love Like Crazy” from 2009 showed off how good of a songwriter and storyteller Lee Brice was in the 2000s. It hit no. 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and it stayed on the chart for quite a while after its release.
4. “What About Now” by Lonestar
“What About Now” is one of several of Lonestar’s country songs from the 2000s that disappeared from public consciousness. This track was released in 2000 and topped the Hot Country Songs chart. It also hit no. 3 on the end-of-the-year Country Songs chart. It’s a great tune with some 90s country elements still hanging on, but it was far from outdated when it was first released.
