On the heels of one of the year’s best-selling comeback albums and a sold-out tour, AC/DC’s front man Brian Johnson is cashing in while he can with a book deal. Signed with Penguin Books, the book will contain a collection of the Australian singer’s memoirs, not only from his days on the road with the heavy metal legends, but from all aspects of his life. Now said to be a 300-page manuscript of scribbled thoughts – no doubt some serious editing will be involved as the author has always been known for his talkative nature – Johnson assures that his book will not be a tawdry chronicle of sex, drugs and rock and roll, but focus on, for one, his lifelong car fetish.

“Instead of doing drugs, I did motorcars,” Johnson told Rolling Stone, recalling his first drag race in which he was forced to drive backwards for nine-and-a-half miles when his gears gave out.

No print date has been settled on yet, much less a title, but given AC/DC’s timely return to the spotlight – nabbing a cross-promotional gold mine with Wal-Mart and 6 million records distributed worldwide – here’s betting it won’t be a long wait.
