Country music sensation Taylor Swift got a swift kick in the butt today by none other than Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, who displaced Swift from the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

Country music sensation Taylor Swift got a swift kick in the butt today by none other than Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, who displaced Swift from the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.

Despite his Super Bowl halftime performance and its surrounding media blitz, Springsteen’s Working on A Dream sold 33% less in its opening week than 2007’s Magic, which also debuted at No. 1.

As BIllboard notes, this is the ninth album by Springsteen to debut at the top of the charts, which puts him in the same league as the Rolling Stones. The Beatles are the current record holders with 19 No. 1’s, while Jay-Z and Elvis Presley each have ten.

Other noticable chart debuts include Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand’s third LP, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand (at no. 9), and country party-starter Pat Green’s What I’m For (no. 18).

Other than that, you have new ones by Hoobastank and the WWE, but we’ll save the discussion of those albums for another time.
