Amy Winehouse Reemerges To Sing “Valerie”

Videos by American Songwriter

OMG, get yer phone out — it’s Amy Winehouse! The sultry, sometimes mush-mouthed singer, who’s as talented as they come, returned from exile to join her producer, Mark Ronson on stage at his recent gig at London’s 100 Club. Winehouse grinded out a version of their 2007 single “Valerie” (and, clearly, employed her “chest voice”). We can’t wait until she pulls it together long enough to record a new record. Until then, there’s YouTube.
What do you think of this performance? Hot mess, or not impressed?

  1. I wonder why Amy disappeared? Is she disillusioned as an artist? Artists are so taken advantage of these days and have a hard time earning (and keeping!) what they should.

    Maybe iDream can help?
