Devon Allman comes from musical blood (his father, Gregg Allman, co-founded a certain famous band of brothers) but he also boasts an impressive resume all his own. The songwriter and guitarist not only formed the band Honeytribe, but is a member of the Royal Southern Brotherhood supergroup, and has recently branched out as a solo artist. Not to mention he created his own Chipotle Blues hot sauce.
Devon – the self-proclaimed “next generation of Allman” – stopped by the American Songwriter office to share a track off his debut solo album Turquoise, taking listeners back to the good ol’ days with the nostalgic “Time Machine.” Lyric of note? “The only apples we had grew on trees.” Time machine, indeed.
