Avett Brothers To Produce G. Love’s Next Album

Videos by American Songwriter

For the first time in their decade-long career, the Avett Brothers have taken on production duties for another artist. A year ago, the alt-country staple band struck up a friendship with G. Love, a.k.a. Garret Dutton, who they consider an early inspiration. With their melded influences, this quickly turned into a musical partnership. It was only natural for Dutton to ask the Avetts to assist him with the making of his new album at the Echo Mountain Recording Studio in Asheville, North Carolina. The result of the recent session is set to be released in spring 2011.

The Avett Brothers are still fresh from their mainstream breakout success following the release of 2009’s Rick Rubin-produced I and Love and You. They’ll release a live CD/DVD, Live, Volume 3, October 5.
