If you’re into world travel, and aren’t still sneezing dust from your
shnoz after a blurry trip to Bonnaroo, hop on a plane and head for the bright, clean air of Reykjavik, Iceland around June 28. Sigur Rós and Björk are sharing a stage in hopes of making a green statement.

But in all reality, Sigur Rós and Björk don’t want you to stop by and see them… well, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but seriously, your plane ride is fogging up the atmosphere. Björk’s stop in Reykjavik is actually to take arms with Sigur Rós to promote environmental consciousness. So while you’re finding something else to rock out to that Saturday night, about 400 Icelandic people are going to be having the time of their lives in the greenest way possible, of course.

After fans were slightly shocked to see the lack of those two little letters “U” and “S” beside many Sigur Rós or Björk tour dates, American fans’ frowns droop only slightly lower after hearing this news.

On her site, Björk writes that “the 21st century is not going to be another oil century but rather a century where we need to recycle, think green and design both power plants and our surroundings in harmony with nature.” C’mon, we’ll think long and hard on our impending environmental doom for a few shows. We’ll buy your sweat-shop free tees and recycled paper album covers. Save us the gas, come play in America!
