Bruce Springsteen: “Ain’t Good Enough For You”

Bruce Springsteen

Videos by American Songwriter

This infectious song, off Springteen’s Darkness outtakes collection The Promise, marries a bouncy ’50s chord progression to lyrics about trying to impress an unimpressible girl, whether it’s buying a shirt at Bloomingdale’s, or acting more like record producer Jimmy Iovine. Check out the video of Bruce and the E Street Band having some good-natured fun in the studio. There’s very little “darkness” to be found.
