Singer/songwriter Cat Power (Chan Marshall) has announced the release of a new EP at the end of this year. The record, entitled Dark End of the Street, is set to come out both digitally and on a limited edition double 10″ December 8th on indie label Matador Records.

The record, entitled Dark End of the Street, is set to come out both digitally and on a limited edition double 10″ December 8th on indie label Matador Records. The album will feature the remaining tracks from the studio sessions for her latest release, Jukebox an album of cover songs (excepting two originals– “Song To Bobby” and “Metal Heart”) that debuted at number 12 in the Billboard 200 chart on January 22, 2008, selling about 29,000 copies in its first week.

Cat Power toured to support Jukebox last spring, and has had a few television gigs over the last few months, but has no performances in store for the time being. She currently has a new self-produced LP in the works, with no tentative dates announced.
