Louisville songstress Cheyenne Mize has been on our radar ever since the release of her Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy collaboration, Among The Gold, back in 2009. Earlier this month, we met up with Mize at Nashville’s coolest new record store, Fond Object, where she performed a tune for the latest installment of our Martin Guitar: Sessions series.

With accompaniment from her guitarist Drew English, Mize peformed “Whole Heart,” one of the more delicate tracks off her forthcoming album, Among The Grey. For this performance, the singer picked on a Martin 000-17SM. “I like smaller guitars much better and smaller necks are easier for me because I have small hands and fingers,” Mize said. “I also love the square headstock on this thing, and it has such a nice warm sound.”
