CSN, Bon Jovi and “Hair” composers make it into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Songwriting Hall of Fame.
This time out, it’s all about the “hair” — hair-metal vets Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora will be inducted, as well as the team behind Hair, the musical: Galt MacDermot, James Rado, and the late Gerome Ragni.
Crosby, Stills and Nash (“Almost Cut My Hair”), The Young Rascals’ Felix Cavalieri and Eddie Brigati, Godspell composer Stephen Schwartz, and the British songwriting team of Roger Cook and Roger Greenway (who wrote the jingle “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing”) round out the list of Hall of Fame Inductees.
The induction ceremony and awards dinner will take place June 18th in New York City.
“The Songwriters Hall of Fame has much to celebrate every year, but this one is especially significant,” said Chairman/CEO (and famed lyricist) Hal David. “I can think of no better way to mark our 40th anniversary than by inducting this group of eminent songwriters whose extraordinary accomplishments have made an indelible impression on the world’s musical culture.”
Inductees join such luminaries as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Carole King and James Brown.
