Eight years after releasing his first solo album Keep It Hid, Dan Auerbauch has announced plans for a follow-up. The solo artist and Black Keys member will release Waiting On A Song on June 2.

Billed as a “love letter to Nashville,” where Auerbach has lived since 2010, the album features a number of Nashville luminaries, including John Prine, with whom Auerbach co-wrote seven of the album’s 10 songs, along with Jerry Douglas, Duane Eddy and Pat McLaughlin. Mark Knopfler also makes a guest appearance, lending a guitar solo to first single “Shine on Me.”

Auerbach premiered “Shine on Me” via NPR Music, along with a trippy accompanying music video.

Waiting On A Song will release via Auerbach’s own record label Easy Eye Sound. Listen to “Shine on Me” below.
