This isn’t Father John Misty’s first time trying out the Velvet Underground sound; in 2015, he reinterpreted Ryan Adams’ version of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” and “Welcome To New York” as Velvet Underground tracks. However, after a short while, Father John Misty took down the songs and told fans that the spirit of Lou Reed angrily visited him in a dream.

Father John Misty performed “Who Loves The Sun” alongside the Mondo Boy,s who created the music for the track with Father John Misty providing vocals.

Below, listeners can hear the full soundtrack to Shangri-La Suite. Skip ahead to 2:59 to hear FJM’s cover.
