“Butte La Rose”—Cimarron 615 (October 29) 🎵🎵🎵
“Butte La Rose” is the lead single from Cimarron 615’s forthcoming self-titled sophomore album. While the weather is getting cooler and the album is set for a February release, this song sounds like it was made to be played loud in warm weather, preferably near a body of water.
The band, which features former members of Poco and Flying Burrito Brothers, leans into the Cajun feel of “Butte La Rose” with accordion and fiddle that will make listeners across the country want to take a good pull from a fruit jar, dance, and cut loose.
“Lubbock”—Flatland Cavalry (October 29) 🎵🎵🎵♩
Flatland Cavalry fans have been waiting on this track for five years. The buzz started when the band shared an acoustic performance of the song to celebrate Texas Tech’s basketball team making it to the Final Four. Since then, fans have been all but begging for it. Earlier this week, they released it as the latest single from their forthcoming album Flatland Forever. It was worth the wait.
“Spirits”—The Devil Makes Three (October 31) 🎵🎵🎵🎵
The Devil Makes Three has been relatively quiet since releasing Chains Are Broken. Then, they surprised fans with “Spirits,” the lead single and title track from their forthcoming album on Halloween.
Sonically, “Spirits” marries the groove-heavy sound of their latest LP and the stripped-down sound from their older records. That, added to Pete Bernhard’s deeply personal lyrics about processing grief and staying connected to loved ones he’s lost recently make this a strong introduction to the new album.
“Real, Real Love”—Warren Haynes feat Derek Trucks (November 1) 🎵🎵🎵♩
Warren Haynes released his long-awaited solo album A Million Voices Whisper today and chose “Real, Real Love” as the focus track. It’s also one of his favorite tracks from the record.
The silky smooth blues rock track began as a concept offered up by Gregg Allman. Haynes and Trucks brought it to fruition and made it something truly special. It wonderfully showcases Haynes’ vocals and the musical chemistry between him and Trucks. It also features guitar work from two of the best players in the game today. Really, it’s the total package.
“Something”—Lucinda Williams (November 1) 🎵🎵🎵
Lucinda Williams released her rendition of “Something” as the latest single from her forthcoming album Lucinda Williams Sings the Beatles from Abbey Road and it’s nothing short of beautiful. Two legends—Williams’ vocals and George Harrison’s songwriting—collide on this track to create something wholly unforgettable.
The album drops on December 5. Watch Williams perform the Beatles classic at Abbey Road Studios below.
