7 kids from Portland’s School of Rock transformed themselves into the Pixies on May 17. The young musicians were actually joined by Pixies frontman Flank Black on “Where Is My Mind?” during the sold out performance in front of 500 fans at Berbatis. Black joked that the gig was going smoother than the Pixies’ live debut in 1986. The band consists of Hannah Lewman (guitar), Julian Hixson (guitar), Oscar Gayet (guitar), Nola Versfelt (bass), Max Griggs (drums), Jacob Weber (vocals), and Michelle Brayson (vocals). For many of the students, this was their first time performing live.
