Garth Brooks’ Lawyer Files New Motion as Assault Lawsuit Takes a New Turn: Report

Over the course of his career, Garth Brooks proved himself to be a top name in country music as he sold over 170 million albums. With more than a few hit songs in his discography, the country singer went on to land in the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was also the youngest person to receive the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. But while a legend in country music, Brooks continues to face pressure for a sexual assault lawsuit accusing him of rape. While fighting the accusations, Brooks recently hoped to move the lawsuit to the federal court.

During the last few months, the lawsuit surrounding Brooks took a few wild turns when the individual wanted to keep her name out of the public’s eye. With the country singer already named, fans were shocked when they found out the accuser used to work for both Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood. With accusations continuing to mount, Brooks wanted the case to be seen by the federal court and not the Superior Court in California.

While the legal system can be somewhat confusing for most, Brooks wanting the lawsuit moved to the federal court seemed like a strategic move on his part. ET reported that the sudden shift came due to Brooks and his lawyers wanting the lawsuit dismissed. Moving it to the federal court could help increase that likelihood.

Garth Brooks Looking To Say Goodbye To The United States

Outside of his legal troubles, Brooks also opened up about the possibility of the couple moving out of his United States. While creating both their careers in the U.S., Brooks noted Yearwood’s love for Ireland. Speaking on Inside Studio G, he explained, “Actually, the queen is pushing hard for the house in Ireland. I think this last time over there, she just fell head over heels in love with the country.”

While possibly looking to get away from the spotlight, Brooks faced some backlash when he revealed his accuser. According to the person’s lawyers, they noted how the move showed his true self. “Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. With no legal justification, Brooks outed her because he thinks the laws don’t apply to him.”
