George Harrison Rarities Album Due In May

Videos by American Songwriter

Exciting news for fans of George Harrison, The Beatles and Bob Dylan — On May 1, in tandem with the release of Martin Scorsese’s Living In The Material World documentary,  Hip-O Records will offer the ten-song album Early Takes Volume 1, a compilation of some of the demos and rarities heard in the film.

Included are Harrison’s co-write with Bob Dylan, “I’d Have You Any Time,” and his version of Dylan’s “Mama You Been On My Mind,” and a demo of “My Sweet Lord,” one of his most enduring, if contentious songs (Harrison was successfully sued for subconsciously plagiarizing The Chiffons’ “He’s So Fine.”)

The album will be available in both LP and CD formats.
