Ian Dury’s Life The Subject of New Biopic

British singer-songwriter Ian Dury will be the subject of a new biopic, Reuters reports. Dury was a seminal figure in the British New Wave movement in the 1970s who wrote such hits as “Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll,” from which the film takes its name. Dury was stricken with polio when he was 10 and was repeatedly told he would never amount to anything. Dury formed Ian Dury and the Blockheads in 1970 and had a string of hits, including “What a Waste,” “Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick,” and “Reasons To Be Cheerful, Part 3.” Dury died of cancer in 2000.
