Jack White Promises More White Stripes Material

Don’t write off the White Stripes just yet. Jack White has announced that, despite his penchant for side projects and Meg White’s recent bout with stage fright, the band will soldier on. Jack White tells Music Radar a new album is definitely on the horizon. “It won’t be too far off, maybe a year.”

Addressing Meg White’s anxiety issues, which led to the band cancelling dates in 2007, White says “we just needed to stop for a while. When it comes down to your health…It’s hard; people don’t really understand. They think you go up on stage and you’re having a blast, like you’re partying or some shit. That’s not the case. It’s hard work to go on tour.”

Jack White also contributes vocals and musical saw on “The Wind Did Move,” the new single from sibling act (naturally) and Third Man label mates the Dexter Romweber Duo. The 7 ” single, backed with a cover of obscure blueswoman Geeshie Wiley’s “Last Kind Word Blues,” is due in late May. White’s newest band, The Dead Weather, will tour from June to August. Their debut album, Horehound, is due June 9 via Jack’s Third Man label.  That’s a whole lot of Jack.
