Jay Som’s New Album Everybody Works Streaming Now

Ahead of its March 10 release date, Jay Som is streaming her debut album Everybody Works via NPR First Listen.

The Bay Area-based singer, real name Melina Duterte, makes dreamy pop-rock music that takes cues from modern indie and ’90s rock. A talented multi-instrumentalist, she recorded, performed and produced the entirety of Everybody Works by herself.

The album follows 2016’s compilation Turn Into, a collection of all of the songs — some incomplete — that Duterte had posted to Bandcamp in earlier years.
