On Thursday night, the Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards performed at Sing Me Back Home: The Music of Merle Haggard, a special concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena that paid tribute to the life and music of the legendary country artist, who passed away exactly one year earlier. Richards performed the event’s titular song, a cut off Haggard’s 1969 album Okie from Muskogee.

Richards was backed by a crack band that included Sam Bush, Haggard’s own son Ben, and members of Haggard’s original backing band the Strangers. Gospel quartet the McCrary Sisters provided Richards with backing vocals.

Sing Me Back Home also featured performances by Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Willie Nelson, Kenny Chesney, Tanya Tucker, Bobby Bare, John Anderson, and several others.
