Andrew Combs‘ Worried Man turned a lot of heads back in 2012. The Dallas-bred singer-songwriter’s debut album  showed an artist who could “swamp-rock it up with the best of them, and follow that with a delicate acoustic ballad, all wrapped in a honeyed, soulful, puppy dog voice that’s as memorable as the melodies.”

Earlier this year, Combs signed with London-based label Loose Music and is currently recording his sophomore album with producers Skylar Wilson and Jordan Lehning (Caitlin Rose, Justin Townes Earle) in Nashville.

American Songwriter was anxious to hear some of the tunes from the new record, so we teamed up with LR Baggs for a special session. Below, watch Combs perform “Rainy Day Song” (co-written with Brent Cobb) and “Month Of Bad Habits” (co-written with Doug Johnson) on his Martin OM-21 guitar, recorded direct with an LR Baggs Anthem system.

This summer, Combs will be on tour with Joe Fletcher/Ron Gallo in July, and Amanda Shires in August. He plays the UK’s End of the Road Festival in September, then tours the UK this fall. All tour dates are at andrewcombs.net/tour.
