LADY ANTEBELLUM > Lady Antebellum

With Charles Kelly’s Gregg Allman-esque soul-growl, he incinerates band-penned “Love Don’t Live Here” as perhaps the best go-hither cautionary note since Allman’s “I’m No Angel.” Not that Lady Antebellum is a rebel yell with a power-sheen alto named Hillary Scott sharing lead vocals.

Think more a character study of what it means to be young, alive and free right now; it’s right here. The plucky funk of “Love’s Lookin’ Good On You,” the throw-a-few-back moment of wow “Lookin’ For A Good Time” and coulda woulda “Slowdown Sister” that’s porch-truth each offer a brisk harmony-heavy bottom line where fun can lead to forever-and if not, well, it was fun while it lasted. For all the effervescence, L.A. really shines when things slow down. Scott’s knee-buckling reckoner “All We’d Ever Need” and Kelly’s lean, but lush rapture promise “One Day You Will” hit serious places.
