Lainey Wilson’s path from tiny Baskin, Louisiana (population 250) to the bright lights of the Grand Ole Opry wasn’t always a smooth one. The “Country’s Cool Again” singer, 32, frequently credits the sisterhood she has formed with some fairly incredible women as a way she stayed grounded and determined through it all. Now that Wilson has reached the top of her game (and is still climbing,) the former Entertainer of the Year is paying it forward however she can.

These Women Of Country Music Have “Poured Into” Lainey Wilson
After a decade-long slog of trying to “make it” in Nashville, Lainey Wilson has arrived. From her Grammy-winning album Bell Bottom Country to its equally acclaimed follow-up Whirlwind, the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer has proved she’s here to stay. And Wilson is adamant that she hasn’t done it on her own. She credits industry veterans like Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, and Wynonna Judd for sharing their combined decades of wisdom and experience.
“The ladies who have kind of been there and done that, they have really just decided that they wanted to pour into me,” Wilson said during a recent appearance on RFD-TV.
She continued, “Those ladies have had such unique and long careers, and I think it’s because of the wisdom that was passed along to them. And now they’re passing it along to me, so I’m trying to make dang sure that, if the opportunity presents itself, I’m also passing along that knowledge and that wisdom, especially to the females on the up-and-up right now.”
What Advice Does She Have?
Next, Lainey Wilson goes on to cite two women currently tearing up the country music charts: Megan Moroney and Ella Langley.
“To watch their stars just soaring, it’s really, really cool to see,” she said. “And at times I’m like, I just want to pour out as much as I possibly can to them.”
And while she advises Moroney, 27, and Langley, 25, to “keep your head down and work hard,” Wilson also hopes they don’t forget to look up occasionally.

“Acknowledge that their hard work has gotten them to this point, and who they are, and their stories, and their music,” she said.
