Leonard Cohen, The Cure, Morrissey Bring Uplift to Coachella 2009

After much speculation, the lineup for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was announced today. Headlining the festival will be Paul McCartney, the Cure, and American Songwriter cover subjects The Killers. Other notable acts include Amy Winehouse, My Bloody Valentine (one of the loudest bands on earth), and the one-two punch of Morrissey and Leonard Cohen (make sure you bring your prozac.)

Cohen’s Coachella stop is part of his first North American tour in 15 years, which launches next month. Other notable band on the bill for the three day event include Fleet Foxes, Dr. Dog, The Hold Steady, Conor Oberst, The Drive-By Truckers, TV on the Radio, and Girl Talk.

The event will be held April 17-19 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Tickets go on sale this morning via Ticketmaster. What are you waiting for?
