It happened somewhere in the second verse, causing Cyrus to momentarily clam up before regaining her footing. Later in the song, she turns to one of her backup dancers, mouthing “I forgot the words.”
Now, let it be known that we are not putting down Miley Cyrus for her little lapse of memory.
We’re actually surprised this sort of thing doesn’t happen more often.
However, it does seem to particularly affect pop starlets — Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Jessica Simpson have all been subject to the same gaffe.
When Bob Dylan forgets the words, he just makes up new ones. At least Miley didn’t pull an Ashlee Simpson, and forget how to lip-sync.
