Miranda Lambert Wins Big at CMA Awards

The 48th annual CMA Awards were held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and broadcast live on ABC last night.  Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood for the seventh year in a row, the show featured performances by Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves with Loretta Lynn, and many others.

Miranda Lambert was a big winner, taking home trophies for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year (Platinum) and Musical Event of the Year for her contribution to “We Were Us” with Keith Urban. Lambert’s fifth consecutive Female Vocalist of the Year win was matched by her husband Blake Shelton, who took home his fifth consecutive Male Vocalist of the Year honor.

Other highlights included Luke Bryan’s Entertainer of the Year win, Brett Eldredge taking New Artist of the Year and Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow” earning Song of the Year honors.
