Nicki Bluhm And The Gramblers Show Their Love For Levon Helm With New Van Session

Videos by American Songwriter

To help celebrate the life and legacy of Levon Helm, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers have created their own version of “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever,” a Motown staple that appeared on The Band’s 1989 compilation, To Kingdom Come.

Recorded exclusively for American Songwriter, Bluhm’s cover doubles as the latest installment of “Van Sessions,” a series of YouTube videos featuring the Gramblers in their car, covering classic songs while driving from one gig to another.

Bluhm sits behind the wheel during the “Loving You” performance, singing Rick Danko’s vocal lines while her buddies chime in with harmonies and acoustic guitar solos. The whole thing is unassuming, breezy and pretty great… like Levon himself.
