Recorded in one 24-hour session in 1965, Otis Redding’s seminal album Otis Blue: Otis Redding Sings Soul – arguably the singer’s greatest contribution to music – is seeing a collector’s edition re-release in honor of its 50th birthday. Rhino previously released a 2-disc collector’s edition of the album in 2008, but it has since gone out of print; fans will be soon be able to purchase the special collection once again when it hits stores September 18.

Otis Blue will also be featured in Rhino’s upcoming 12-disc box set SOUL MANIFESTO: 1964-1970, which will include all eight studio and live albums Redding recorded from 1964-1967. The set will be available in-stores and online October 30.
