Peter Gabriel Readies Ambitious New Album, Tour

On March 2nd, Peter Gabriel will drop his highly anticipated new album Scratch My Back, which features orchestral covers of songs by Radiohead, Regina Spektor, Paul Simon, and more.

According to a press release,  the album is the first part of a series of song exchanges in which Gabriel and other leading artists reinterpret each other’s songs.

The album was arranged by John Metcalfe of Durutti Column, mixed by Tchad Blake (Suzanne Vega, Sheryl Crow, Tom Waits), and produced by Bob Ezrin, the man behind Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Lou Reed’s Berlin. Gabriel made the decision to record the album completely without drums or guitars.

Gabriel will hit the road with a 54-piece orchestra in support of the album, playing a two-set show; one of covers from the new album, and one of originals. The following dates have been announced:
