Robert Plant has put his foot down on rumors of a Led Zeppelin tour and recording session in 2009. A statement released today on Plant’s official website said that he “has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years.” Rumors of a second get-together have circulated almost constantly since the group’s one-off reunion show in London last December, but Plant finally spoke up in response to a recent flare of chatter. Word spread on the internet last week that Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were threatening to recruit another vocalist for a 2009 tour, which pushed Plant into reconsidering. “It’s both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward,”
Plant said of the new gossip.

Plant is currently on tour with Alison Krauss to promote their highly acclaimed 2007 release, Raising Sand. The tour will finish up on October 5th in Saratoga, CA. On a final note, he added that “I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects.”
