Everyone likes to publicize their albums before release, but R.E.M. plans to take the practice to new heights. The band has teamed up with music and social networking site iLike (not associated with Apple) to stream their new album before its actual release date. The album, Accelerate, complete with catchy track “Supernatural Superserious,” will be continually streamed between March 24-26 in the “iLike World Listening Party,” though the album isn’t set for release until April 1. Accelerate will be R.E.M.’s 14th release, and their aggressive marketing tactics complement their new sound.
