Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland passed away in his sleep Thursday night, according to a statement released on the singer’s official Instagram account. He was 48.

Weiland was on a tour stop in Bloomington, MN with his band the Wildabouts when he was found unconscious on his tour bus in the parking lot of a motel. According to TMZ, the singer suffered cardiac arrest. The underlying cause is still unknown.
